The Green Mountain Den is a place to drop your bags, kick off your shoes, slow down, and let your mind disconnect. A cozy place designed for quick trips with everything you need. There's hiking in the summer, skiiing in the winter, mountain fresh air and dark starry nights.
The Green Mountain Den is a two bedroom, one bathroom apartment in the lower level of a 1985 chalet located in Dover, VT in the heart of the Green Mountain National Park - 3.5 hour drive from New York City, and a 2.5 hour drive from Boston.
We are minutes away from restaurants in West Dover and Wilmington, as well as Mt Snow and Stratton ski resorts. Green Mountain National Forest offers some of the best terrains for hiking and mountain biking in the northeast.
Guest Access • Guests will have access to the lower level apartment, consisting of entry through a separate side entrance door, a full kitchen, living area with fireplace, an open concept kitchen, two bedrooms and bathroom. Above there is a 4-bedroom home with separate access that is rented separately.
Interaction with Guests • Keys will be left for you and we will always be available via email, text or phone.
Ski Resorts • Mt Snow ski resort is a 1 mile drive or The Moover is Dover’s free shuttle service (weekends and holidays) that brings you directly to and from the mountain. Additionally, there is a private groomed ski-home trail from Mt Snow that comes to Bears Crossing. Stratton ski resort is a 25 minute drive from the house.
Hiking • The Green Mountain National Forest is a great place to hike around and explore Haystack Mountain Trail. The Harriman Reservoir is a short 30 minute drive and is a great place to enjoy kayaking and lake-shore hiking.
Nearest International Airport • Albany International Airport (67 miles)
Other Things to Note • The apartment is well appointed with everything you need for a comfortable stay, including a fully equipped kitchen, bath products, board games and books, and an internet/Netflix enabled TV.

The Moover is Dover’s first free public bus system that brings you directly to and from the mountain (weekends and holidays) as well as other popular locations in town. Additionally there is a private groomed ski-home trail from Mt Snow that comes to Bears Crossing. Lastly, onsite parking is available.
